Description

The UW Athletic Communications Office serves as the liaison between the media, fans and the UW Athletic Department, working with entities ranging from student and Madison-area newspapers to national networks such as ESPN and ABC. The Athletic Communications Office aids the coaches and student-athletes of UW’s 23 sports, while also filling the requests of journalists, and interacting with all via social media. 
Qualified applicants must be knowledgeable about sports, willing to work 15-25 hours a week and have a good writing and communications background. Duties range from writing news releases, updating UWBadgers.com, gameday work, maintaining social media accounts, conducting interviews and much more. 
Former UW student assistants have gone on to work in the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, college athletics and for ESPN, as well as in other sports positions and fields of work.
