ESPN College GameDay Volunteer (Oct. 14-15)

This is a great opportunity to get some real world sports experience and a great resume builder with one of the most successful programs in sports.

If you are interested please email Taryn Rudolph with ESPN

College GameDay is in need of 10 volunteers on Friday Oct. 11 (7:30 AM-12:30 PM) and Saturday Oct. 12 (4:30 AM-12:30 PM) mornings for on-site set-up and activation. They are aiming to have a 50/50 breakdown between male and female volunteers, and are giving priority to those who can work the entire shift for both days.

Friday’s work will primarily consist of setting up for Saturday. This will include covering TV visible barricades with Home Depot branded covers, building out a photo activation element, setting up the Home Depot VIP hospitality area, setting up the Campus Cornhole event, and other odds and ends. GameDay will also be doing a few activations on Friday after set-up. Saturday will consist of last minute set-up and prep before the broadcast and all on-site activations which include a photo activation, a sign making station, and a hospitality area.

Taryn Rudolph can answer more of your questions and help sign you up. They prefer you be able to work both shifts, but if you are only able to work one you can still reach out to her and see if they can work something out. You will receive 2 points for working this event.

If you do end up working this event, please email Luke Reger to ensure you get the points.

Sports Writer/Content Assistant

Who We Are:
RotoWire is a fantasy sports company that provides content to partners such as ESPN, Yahoo, DraftKings, FanDuel, SiriusXM, BleacherReport, NBA.com, and a number of other respected companies in the sports industry.

We also have RotoWire.com, a subscription-based website that caters to both year-long and daily fantasy. In addition to the four major sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL), RotoWire also covers CFB, CBB, Golf, Soccer, MMA, Cricket, NASCAR, and eSports (LoL, Dota 2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, CoD, CS:GO, and Halo).

RotoWire's internships are available year-round, so if you're interested and motivated, use the contact information below to reach our intern coordinator.

You'll be taught how to write player updates that appear on ESPN and several of our partner sites, asked to enter data and curate our subscription website, tasked with quality checking our Apple and Android apps before they're released, and given the opportunity to sit in our live Sirius XM show or podcasts.

Interns are expected to come into the office three times per week for 3-4 hours depending on their availability for the semester. Our best interns can step into part-time paid roles after their internship is complete. In fact, most of our full-time staff members are UW graduates who came through our intern program. Our internships are unpaid, but the path to a part-time job is available to ambitious writers.

You should be an avid sports fan and a good writer. Experience with Twitter and other computer skills are essential. If you're not interested in writing but love sports and want to get involved with RotoWire in content assistance and data entry, please apply and we'll make sure your application reaches the appropriate department.
