Day 1: Anddd We're Off!
With the sky still pitch black and the sun yet to rise, SBC members beaming with excitement as they boarded the bus for a very early departure time.

After lunch at Culver's, the first stop on the Winter Trip was at Andretti Sports Marketing. SBC members were given a tour of the facility, including the warehouse where most of their cars are developed and made. Following that, Laura Cooper, the Director of Marketing Services, talked to members about her career and experience thus far in her field. She stressed the importance of being flexible--don't be so set on one job that you're not willing to try new things/jobs, which could lead to important opportunities.

Next stop on the trip: the Indy Fuel. The Indy Fuel is a new minor league hockey team that has an affiliation with the Rockford Icehogs and the Chicago Blackhawks. SBC members were given a tour of their arena, which serves as the home court for IUPUI, by Lee Dicklitch, the VP of Operations and Fan Experience. Dicklitch was able to provide an interesting perspective into working for collegiate athletics given his time spent working with the NCAA, whose headquarters happen to be located in Indianapolis.

Day 1 was finished off by swimming and relaxing at the hotel.

Executives from multiple departments talked about their roles in the company, as well as their background and experience in the industry. After that, SBC members were treated to go to the top floor of the Pagoda, which is the highest point in their complex, and is located directly next to the start/finish line. Special thanks to Melissa DeJesus and David Vinson for providing us with this unique opportunity!

 The brick-laid start/finish line.

Next up on the itinerary was lunch at the Indy Colts Sports Grille. While enjoying a wonderful meal, the Sponsorship Sales Account Manager for the Indianapolis Colts, Ryan Lobsiger, talked about his career and experience in the sports industry. Not only did he provide helpful tips and ideas, but he also gave away some Colts items to a few lucky SBC members, with one of those items being a signed mini helmet by legendary Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri!

The final destination for the day was the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the home of the Indiana Pacers. Upon arrival, SBC members were given a brief tour of the arena followed by a Q&A session with Jeff Tzucker, the Director of Digital Marketing for the Pacers.
